Day 4
We are now on our way out of Tokyo and we are off to Takayama. Although taking the bags through the train station is annoying I think it is so much better then the bus. So from the subway we then made our way to the JR line. Oh and we saw something really cool, this men in blue and women in pink get onto the train and clean it and also switch the way that the seats are
facing so that people are always traveling in the right direction. I had never seen that before and it was really interesting. The second train was really a beautiful ride because we went through the green mountains and there was also a dark blue river that followed us for most of the way. Now Takayama was supposedly the mountain village that we
were staying at, but really it looks like a small Tokyo without a subway. In fact the locals even call it little Kyoto. Our
hotel is interesting though, it is another Ryoken. This one is smaller, but it is still really nice. Oh but I almost completely forgot about the Sake brewery. At the train station we
met by 2 people from the hotel who took our bags and we went to the sake brewery. It was actually very nice and we got to try some. Sake can be serves hot or cold ours was cold. It tasted like whiskey minus the woody after taste. It was 20% alcohol, and it was pretty good but I don’t think that I would seek it out. Anyway back to the hotel. Since we got in late there wasn’t much to do so a large group of us ended up going to this big toy store that was behind the hotel.

There were a lot of fun toys there and I even bought some Hello Kitty stickers. In fact there was a whole bunch of different Hello Kitty products. After the toy store we all set out to find food but
ended up breaking off and eating at all different places. Amanda and I went to this place that was delicious. Mine was Katsudon which has become my favorite Japanese dish. Oh and Amanda tried buckwheat noodles that she said were really good. We ended our day with a relaxing bath, which I think is the best way to end the day. Well, until
next time.
I gave in to the cuteness that is Kitty
